I tried using your tool but I really didn't get the help I needed. The values that seem to appear are all default/globals and not actual values and tags that can be used within a subset I'm not sure what you mean, please explain it more detailed. It's hard to determine whether you or the applcation goes wrong. The fading in works, and so does the fading out, however, there's something hard-coded that automatically makes the song artist and song name disappear completely after like 3 seconds, regardless if there's an <fx> applied to it. There is nothing hardcoded. You are applying the both effects every 5ms, which makes the game do weird things. What I'm attempting to do is have the first fx fade in, like it should, and keep it there until 5 seconds into the song before the 2nd fx kicks in to fade it back out. However, I'm unsure of any type of delay features for an fx as well..... Set your text's alpha to 0 and try this single effect: <fx> <additive_alpha>true</additive_alpha> <fx_type>ping_pong</fx_type> <target>alpha</target> <start>90</start> <end>0</end> <speed>70</speed> <loop_delay>5000</loop_delay> </fx> Nope. Didn't even do anything. I can't believe this is really an issue. Something in the system TELLS the engine to cut off the song name and artist text display after about 4-5 seconds. Is there no way to bypass that? Say what if someone wanted to have it displayed for the entirety of a song? What about having it stay up until a set time within the song before fading out? Because like Ive stated before, I can get it to fade in, but before the fade-out transition can even attempt to occur after that the game suddenly just makes it disappear like all the themes do.

co2outbr3ak, I'm sure that the effect works. Probably there is something wrong in your code. I want to ask you how many lines of code did you write until now? I still need answer about the xml editor's possible 'issue'.

co2outbr3ak , I'm sure that the effect works. Probably there is something wrong in your code. I want to ask you how many lines of code did you write until now? I still need answer about the xml editor's possible 'issue'. I used the game_osd.ini that was included with the RB3 theme v1.2 by JD2504. Here's a screenshot of the <fx> tag I injected into both text fields for song artist and song id. These both fade in the 2 text scenarios properly. After 4-5 seconds the game makes them instantly disappear: {Spoiler}<text> <id>song_artist</id> <dynamic>true</dynamic> <position>-800,250,0</position> <scale>100,100,100</scale> <rotate>0,0,0</rotate> <alpha>90</alpha> <font>default</font> <size>13</size> <justification>right</justification> <case>normal</case> <fx> <fx_type>sine</fx_type> <target>alpha<target> <start>0</start> <end>90</end> <rate>10</rate> </fx> </text> <text> <id>song_name</id> <dynamic>true</dynamic> <position>-1120,200,0</position> <scale>100,100,100</scale> <rotate>0,0,0</rotate> <alpha>90</alpha> <font>default</font> <size>15</size> <justification>left</justification> <case>upper</case> <max_length>21</max_length> <fx> <fx_type>sine</fx_type> <target>alpha<target> <start>0</start> <end>100</end> <rate>10</rate> </fx> </text> As far as my issue with your program, it's more of "what are the correct values" for tags like fx_type, target, etc. What are all the tags that the system can work with? It would make your application much more useful if we knew what values can be assigned into what tags.

OMG. It desappears, because this is by design. You were right - it is really hardcoded. I didn't understand that you are talking about this menu/ini. I do not know what you are trying to achieve, but you have to give up.
About xml editor: Please watch the following video and tell me whether the autocomplete works in the same way for you:
If not, I will need to contact you via teamviewer to fix the issue (if you want to help me of course).
Greetings, dj

Greetings, dj Ok, well if you ever watch Rock Band 3 when a song starts, the band name and song name fade in just like how I did it in Phase Shift, but instead of it abruptly disappearing, RB3 keeps it up there for about 3-4 seconds and fades out. Thats literally all I was trying to mimic but that hard-coded setting on PS makes that impossible for me to do. Also as far as your editor, all my views are on, but when opened I only get the left half of your Window in its own Window. I dont even get your previewer window on the right that handles the xml previews. I literally only get the tag scripts and thats it lol. Ill try redownloading when i get home from work.

It's normal. PS XML Editor is part of PS Theme editor, which is not released yet. Only I have the app from the video for now. Can you please write some xml, using my app and upload the video. I still can not determine if the app works correctly.

The app works perfectly. Your Fx is not properly indented. Not all tags were closed correctly. You should never write new code, when your current code is mess. Use the errors/warnings list. It's clickable.

---Image Manipulation
The best I currently have is GNU Image Manipulator Program (GIMP). I do have to go with what I can afford (ahem), free.
Anyway, will it suffice for all my image manipulation needs?

Now seriously, I have been using Gimp since forever and it can get things done, should be enough for what are you trying to achieve.

Lol Honesty is something that I cannot shake, though even I have some hacked/cracked/otherwise not paid for/paid by someone else software. Anyway...but would GIMP be able to build the .X and other associated files?

A model loaded or created in 3DS MAX 2012 can be rendered as a template to .png format, basically you will be using GIMP/Photoshop to edit the respective .png template (color, texture, shadow, etc).

Offtopic: I just want to clarify that *.X means DirectX model. Pandasoft has 3ds max plugin, which exports dx models, but kW X-porter makes the same BTW, I like your explanation

Thanks for the clarification, I have modified my answer. Most of things I know about PS theme creation, is for your tutorials and help as well. I should call you "sensei" xD
