Hello, I would like to use my Akai LPD8 in game, but cannot get it to work. I know I have to create a midi profile, but so far nothing I try seems to work. Here is the output of midi_data.exe: Device: 00 Type: 09 Channel: 00 Note: 36 Value: 120 Device: 00 Type: 08 Channel: 00 Note: 36 Value: 127 Device: 00 Type: 09 Channel: 00 Note: 37 Value: 116 Device: 00 Type: 08 Channel: 00 Note: 37 Value: 127 Device: 00 Type: 09 Channel: 00 Note: 38 Value: 113 Device: 00 Type: 08 Channel: 00 Note: 38 Value: 127 Device: 00 Type: 09 Channel: 00 Note: 39 Value: 121 Device: 00 Type: 08 Channel: 00 Note: 39 Value: 127 Device: 00 Type: 09 Channel: 00 Note: 40 Value: 082 Device: 00 Type: 08 Channel: 00 Note: 40 Value: 127 Device: 00 Type: 09 Channel: 00 Note: 41 Value: 110 Device: 00 Type: 08 Channel: 00 Note: 41 Value: 127 Device: 00 Type: 09 Channel: 00 Note: 42 Value: 116 Device: 00 Type: 08 Channel: 00 Note: 42 Value: 127 Device: 00 Type: 09 Channel: 00 Note: 43 Value: 089 Device: 00 Type: 08 Channel: 00 Note: 43 Value: 127
Thanks in advance!

What happens when you just select the MIDI Link option ingame and choose a default profile?

Nothing, unfortunately. None of the pads work in game.

And btw, controller works perfectly in Fofix and DTXmania...

BTW, is the SIGNAL icon next to the midi device supposed to be red? I've read somewhere its gotta change the color to green.

It should go green when you hit a pad.

We have had some issues with the MIDI ourselves but they were mostly related to USB3 ports and Long USB Cables. I know it sounds odd but the issues also happened in other applicatiosn such as reaper. Sometimes it would work for a little while and then it would die.
Not sure if this applies to your issue but it may be a general issue.
Any more info you can give would be great!
Thanks David

Looking at your data, is this for a drumkit? If so then it seems your kit isn't using the standard MIDI channel 9. If you let me know exactly what note number is linked to what pad then I'll add a New profile for you.
Thanks David

No, it's not a drum kit, it's a pad controller. Perfect for those kinda games, IMO Pad: 1 Note: 36 Pad: 2 Note: 37 Pad: 3 Note: 38 Pad: 4 Note: 39 Pad: 5 Note: 40 Pad: 6 Note: 41 Pad: 7 Note: 42 Pad: 8 Note: 43

Thanks! Now everything works perfectly BTW, maybe you could add a controls configuration menu to the GUI, like in Fofix and DTXmania? It's very complicated to do that with ini files and button_data.exe Even remapping keys on the keyboard takes lots of time...

Yea, it's on my TODO list.
Thanks David

Also, this should eliminate the need to "link" MIDI devices (in Fofix and DTXmania you just need to configure the controller once)

The game will auto link your controller if you are not using the guest or bot profile.
